Between the idea of connection between friend, romantic partner, and a third choice you get to make: yourself, or something bigger than you. You can only connect to one to spare your sanity.

Maybe it’s God or the unique connection you have to a being that may somehow manifest in a friendship or romantic partner. We want to connect the dots somehow. It feels like an imperfect trinity.

It’s why people chase highs to be confused enough to struggle to think, or experience the reality of this world with the possibility of it being different somehow.

It’s a relationship with people, or a particular scholarly related subject, maybe even a particular world where others have similar passion for this rush of connecting the dots.
