For posterities sake, and to say I got to chime in on this-
China’s jet prototype reveal is a shot across the bow. A lot like the J-20 13 hears ago.
We know they’re good at building jets, and this is just a prototype. It’s big, it seems stealthy, and has a very large internal weapons bay.

First off, praise God both aircrew got off of the jet safely. That should be everyone’s first reaction here.
Second, there’s going to be a very thorough investigation that’s going to result in a LOT of firings.

I watched a 4-ship of F-35s, outnumbered, beat dedicated air superiority platforms at range in the exercise environment. “Master of none” my ass.
I still don’t get the “age of drones”. You aren’t winning tactical intercept with quadcopters. Even optionally manned systems are in their infancy.
