Reclaiming <Our> ... A former generation of wealthy U.S. conservatives backed candidates like Barry Goldwater because they wanted to conserve American institutions. But this group - Thiel, Musk, Sacks, Karp, and Vance, among others doesn't seem to want to conserve much of anything, at least not anything that occurred after the 1920s, including Social Security, civil rights, and even women's right to vote. As Thiel has written: "The 1920s were the last decade in American history during which one could be genuinely optimistic about politics. Since 1920, the vast increase in welfare beneficiaries and the extension of the franchise to women two constituencies that are notoriously tough for libertarians have rendered the notion of 'capitalist democracy' into an oxymoron."

I wouldn't put it past the Republican Administration to do exactly this.
I fear the Trump administration will plant violent protesters among our peaceful protests. They will use this as an excuse to use force against us. From this moment forward, at every protest, we must do the following: The moment violence or property damage begins, EVERY OTHER PROTESTER must immediately sit on the floor or the ground in silence, with signs down. The media needs to film this. This will reveal paid fake thugs posing as protesters becoming violent. The sitting down must spread like a "wave" in a football stadium throughout the crowd of protesters. Local police officers will immediately see WHO is doing the damage, and the rest of us will demonstrate our non-violent innocence and retain our Constitutional right to peaceful protest. The indigenous Hawaiians realized a long time ago that words matter and the word "protestor" is triggering in the American context so they now insist on being referred to as "protectors" not "protestors" and will immediately correct anyone who says otherwise. I want to suggest we emulate this because we are not "Protestors for American Democracy" but "Protectors OF American Democracy"! She died at the Auschwitz extermination camp on February 18, 1943, after being injected with phenol into her heart. Just before her execution, she was photographed by a prisoner named Whilem Brasse, who later spoke out against the executioner who had hit her in the face before the photo was taken, as seen by the bruise on her lip. In the photo, we see the face of a terrified young girl who didn't even speak the language and had just lost her mother a few days earlier. She was one of about 250,000 children and young people murdered at Auschwitz-Birkenau. The original black-and-white photo, kept at the Oswiecim Memorial, was later colorized by Brazilian photographer Anna Amaral, who was moved by the image of Czesława and wanted to share it in color with the world. Democratic National Christian Choice (on farcebook): Yesterday morning, a mix of masked and unmasked ICE shock- troops attempted to abduct the school nurse at Cooke Elementary School, located in the densely populated Adams Morgan section of DC. Workers at the school intervened, demanding a warrant and holding up their phones and ICE scurried off without making their arrest. They then issued a statement, to cover their humiliation, that they weren't there to actually "detain" anybody. This is clearly contradicted by videos, witnesses, and a statement by DCPS headquarters. ICE was there for an abduction, people ran out and confronted them, so they left. Adams Morgan then saw a march and a community meeting afterwards, but school workers, parents and kids are shaken. Imagine how shaken if the school nurse had been disappeared. Entering schools is clearly beginning, but has yet to take root as a regular practice. To protect our kids and our colleagues, every school needs a plan as to what to do when ICE comes calling. The guidance from the schools' unions - in the five cities where I have spoken to people - has varied dramatically from "last line of defense" to "piss poor." Either way, school based plans where different people have different roles whether it is to alert colleagues, to take video, to call attorneys, to alert a parent network, to yell at the union if applicable, and to demand warrants from what is clearly an extra-judicial force are essential [everything I just mentioned is absolutely legal]. I can't believe we're inflicting this trauma on elementary schools, as if the daily challenges of public education aren't challenging enough. Link to article in comments. Folks who feel safe enough to do so, should come to this press conference next Friday in Mt. Pleasant, a traditionally El Salvadoran neighborhood walking distance from Cooke ES. I reached out to the 50501 Idaho organizers, and they have advised that while the protest seems to have been organized by a well-meaning but inexperienced group of individuals, there's definitely going to be some counter protestors at this one. It appears that a local MAGA business owner is also promoting the event as a place to - pardon my language - "own the libtards" and is offering half-price drinks to counter protestors. Alcohol plus angry MAGAs equals a dangerous situation. Furthermore, if any violence happens, even if instigated by the drunk MAGA counter protesters, it is something that would be would be weaponized against 50501 on the national level and would greatly damage the movement. This will not be a safe event for anyone to attend. Please do not attend. We highly encourage you to get out and protest, but please pick another, safer event. Hey, Montana organizer here, we haven't had counter protesters at our events in Helena yet, but we know that is inevitable. Counter protesters will show up at some point (especially as the weather warms and protests get bigger) as they did in 2020 and I fully disagree with the idea of not going because of the threat of counter protesters from an alcohol serving establishment that isn't particularly close to the protest location. Everyone should make their own choices and think critically about their own safety before and during each protest. I personally am not backing down to Nazis. EDIT: Just tacking on that I'm confused by "national" 50501 folks being scared about this when any experienced organizer knows that getting the local PD involved for protest security is Protest Organizing 101. I'm not trying to call anyone a n00b, but this really isn't as scary as some people are making it out to be.

So - anyone who depends on social security benefits that DOES NOT receive their check when they are supposed to, don't contact Social Security. Call your creditors instead, letting them know that you didn't receive your money, and you don't know how long it will be before you start receiving your monthly benefits.
