This number goes up to a meager 5 if you include ROM hacks and the like instead of just full-on retail games. I like to include them in terms of counting what I played but they register differently to me when thinking of them in terms of "new releases", y'know

I think I got around a third of the way through 7 and yeah it didn't grip me so I wouldn't have vouched for it. My personal recommendations for older JRPGs would've been either Chrono Trigger or just an earlier DQ game. I'll get to the other Final Fantasies and have opinions on them eventually...
