I picked up the second hand Viewcam Z I got from eB@y, as a surrogate battery for my old Viewcam, and it has a used tape packaged along with it. Scared to play it in case I get cursed...

Bought another second hand camera 🤫 shh. This time a Viewcam Z (slightly better model than mine) to try and get ahold of another battery as they don't manufacture them anymore!! Let's hope this one holds a charge or I'll have two that have to remain plugged in 😭

The handycam SR7 for comparison. I've only had it a couple of days but I've read the manual front to back. There are so many hidden features?? (Like the little slider underneath the view finder. Wtf). Had trouble turning the On button one handed lmao it goes in the opposite direction to the viewcam

I wanted to show how loud the Viewcam is when removing the mini DV tapes and how satisfying it is to push the spring loaded drawer back in and watch it retract. The tape was a recording of London Comic con 2010. It's hard filming this with one hand!! These tapes are super expensive now 💀

My partner managed to find an old Sony Handycam (SR7) in really good condition. Sooo guess who got an early Christmas present? 😊 It's to replace my Sharp Viewcam Z because the battery won't hold a charge anymore and they no longer manufacture the them so I can't even get a replacement battery 😭
