God, I feel this so much. Those late nights talking about nothing and everything, falling asleep to some movie in the background. It really felt like we were part of something. Adulthood can be so isolating in comparison. I miss that effortless closeness too.

Because society conditions us to see vulnerability as weakness. We’re taught to filter, suppress, and curate ourselves, so when we open up, it feels like breaking a rule. But that shame isn’t real, it’s just conditioning trying to keep us from real connections.
