At the end of Chapter 20, The Diving Skid, Kobna Holbrook-Smith reads “Peter’s face is unexpected wet” and I am crying. An audiobook has never made me cry. Kobna’s line reading had me choking, I couldn’t swallow. Great performance.

Alas, not the book but here’s greater detail than what you found in the footnote.

RIP Val Kilmer. My gods you were something else. I’ll save Heat for the weekend; it’s too long for a weeknight.

But I remembered I love Tony Scott. So it’ll be Deja Vu with Denzel and Val from 1995.

RIP Richard Chamberlain. Everyone says Shogun, but the film that made me love him was The Three Musketeers.

Directed by Richard Lester. Cast: Chamberlain, Oliver Reed, Michael York, Frank Finlay, Raquel Welch and Faye Dunaway as Milady. Charlton Heston as Richelieu!

comedy? action? drama? YES!

Thought I had pita bread for tonight’s lamb kebab dinner but I didn’t. So I decided to make a batch. Success!

#TwinPeaks premiere was my favourite group friend event. It was at Frank & Carol's in Evanston. Dozen or more of us crowded around their Sony Trinitron; he made bank.

Silence, shock, the WTF glances.

Thanks for the great freaky memories, #DavidLynch. You changed how I learned experienced film.

Perhaps in my next life I can be a watchmaker or creator of automata.

The Silver Swan by James Cox, 1773.

I find this baffling. Looking at last issue, Cinefex articles had photos of stop motion puppets, HMU & appliances, shooting models, sets like the Mandalorian Razor Crest cockpit. Rarely VFX artists at their monitors.

This is much too modest : this is definitely blindly shitting.

Then Klippstein got that wrong, too, just below the lede.

Our favourite comfort anime this year is Spy x Family. So my brilliant bf made this tableau of Bondo and Anya. 3D print and painted.

I love it. Merry Christmas from New Zealand. 🎄🎅🏼🧑🏼‍🎄

This sweet mashup reminds me of a restaurant in Phineas and Ferb. It's belongs to the parents of Isabella Garcia-Shapiro.

Every year my brilliant, 3D legend, model making boyfriend creates a Christmas ornament

On the same day that Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was added to the National Film Registry, here is Jon's 2024 creation, The Wreath of Khan. #3dPrinting #StarTrek #WrathOfKhan #scifi

Can anyone tell me the name of the artist or studio who did this fantastic vector poster and campaign for the collaboration of Star Trek + MAC way back in 2016?

I can’t believe I saw The Fifth Element in the cinema yesterday. I don’t know if I saw it first run. This film is a major reason I went into VFX.

I keep wanting to say “beautiful print” but you know what I mean. It was just lovely to see.

We saw #TheCreator by Gareth Edwards last night in 4k goodness at The Embassy in Wellington. What a thing of beauty. Acting, directing, sound design, and most of all gorgeous VFX + SFX by #ILM, #WetaWorkshop and their fellow vendors. See it on the big screen, it really is worth it.
