people who say "i'll never vote for party A unless they give me X, Y and Z" understand and are participating in democracy. anyone who is like "i will vote for party A under any circumstances no matter what" may as well have a king

you pledging your vote for nothing in return is why they take you for granted and get more bigoted to appeal to the right. you gotta at least act like they could lose you, y'know. keep them a little bit worried

I think this article is an important read in that dispels the idea that none of this could have gone any other way, that October 7th cast the die and that’s that. From Bibi’s desire to protract the war to the US’s unwillingness to censure them in any way, it could have all gone another way.
