My last 24 hours: Drive 2 hours to Orlando to pick up hubs. Go to outlet mall around 6pm to hang out and shop before his plane arrives @10pm. Mall floods unbelievably by 7pm, and we have to wait for the rain to stop as we huddle in access doorways. Finally stops raining, go to cell phone lot to wait at 9pm ish. Plane is delayed due to storm that flooded the mall. Plane is rerouted to Jacksonville around 10:30 to refuel after circling for a bit. Sleeping in the car, waiting still. 1:15 am flight crew has timed out. Now deboarding in Jacksonville, will be flying back to Orlando in the morning. Get hotel room @ 1:30am. Morning arrives, the plane doesn't take off until 1:30pm. Drive 2.5 hours to Jacksonville @ 8am to pick up hubs. Low tire alert goes off on the way. Stop to put air in tire. Get back on the road. Grab hubs, get on the road home. Should've been home by 1ish. Flat tire on the freeway on our way home. Turns out there's sidewall damage, so tire I filled up earlier didn't take. Sat on freeway for an hour waiting for our AAA ride. Sat in Walmart waiting 2.5 hours for our new tire. Drove 2.5 hours back to Mom's house. Realize right as we get back into town that today is no longer Tuesday, and I've missed my Wednesday meeting. FML. Starving. Grab dinner. Finally back and exhausted. #grumpy

Got flooded at the Orlando outlet mall! Ankle deep. Kinda unbelievable that they have an outdoor mall with such crappy drainage. We had to huddle in the personnel access doorways.

Rumor: If I receive donations from a GoFundMe page or something similar, FEMA will not help me. It depends. By law, FEMA cannot duplicate benefits you receive from another source. However, there are many different types of assistance available through FEMA and we review each application to ensure you receive the aid for which you are eligible. Today I'm thankful I got new home insurance last month when our previous policy was nonrenewed due to our fire rating (they didn't say as much, but it's the MO). After this, I'm guessing it's going to be infinitely more difficult to find someone actively writing policies. This is the worst fire season I think LA has ever seen. Friends have lost their homes. For those of us who are safe, we still have to go to work under this stress. We have to go on living our lives in this surreal state of "nothing's wrong here" while everything *is* wrong. Please be patient with each other and the people around you. Please show grace when someone is short with you. It's hard for everyone. Please consider donating to a support group you've researched to make sure they're legit and directly supporting homeowners and renters. These fires have hit many people who live in areas typically far enough away from the brushline that they don't carry the extra-expensive brush fire insurance. The news likes to focus on all the celebrities who've lost their mansions, but regular folks, working and middle class, have also lost their homes. Often the Santa Ana weather reports bring out the pyros, which would be considered arson, but if it is declared an act of God (or whatever they're calling natural brush fires these days), there will be no coverage for those who don't have brush fire insurance. FEMA never covers the actual cost. And honestly, at this rate of loss, even if every home *is covered*, there's likely not enough money in the coffers of insurance companies to cover these losses. It will likely take some people years to get compensated. Our home is currently safe. But this is devastating, and people will need your help and support.

I have to admit that this made me a little teary.
Mike Tyson tweeted "This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I'm grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won. To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you 🙏"

Spacing settings for blank docs. Before: 0pt, After: 8pt, Line spacing: Multiple At: 1.08 and Don't add space between space between paragraphs of the same style is unchecked.
