9. Back to the PL theme. I didn’t realize how many people weren’t aware of this track! And if you pay attention, it’s used *several* times in FF7R. At very key moments.

8. In Remake, when Aerith finally reveals her identity & tells the crew about The Promised Land, a certain track plays. It’s not TPL, but something else: a track called “The Cetra,” which is Cloud and Aerith’s themes combined. All with her mural as a prominent backdrop.

She reinforces this in chapter 14 on their date, and even then, her inability to be fully direct with him gives him hope but ultimately leaves him confused. Because this poor boy with massive insecurities NEEDS things to be spelled out for him or else he won’t believe it. 😭 7/10

This is why their date is so beautiful, why their entire relationship is so dang special. Because on this date, Aerith sees his worries and wastes no time addressing them. Directly.

Cloud routinely shows he never expects to be someone’s first choice, & is always surprised when he is. He has yet to realize his own worth and how much people truly care about him—demonstrated by the way he dismisses/is confused by Aerith’s compliments in this scene and after the gondola date. 5/10
