Excited to be in Paris to reflect on the future of museum storage in one of the key notes. The 400+ attendees suggest there are pressing issues, from lack of space, to decolonisation efforts & climate change. Yesterday I saw the Louvre storage in Lens built on a former coal mine. Live stream below.

I had a wonderful time at Orient Institute Istanbul as a Max Weber Foundation exchange fellow, learning from colleagues in Turkey & being exposed to different narratives on Ottoman heritage. On the slide: Istanbul's version of Schliemann's troy excavation: it talks about (il)legality & destruction.

Nowruz Mobarak from Istanbul! Grateful to be able to spend a month in Turkey as Max Weber Foundation exchange fellow. Surely, the history of Ottoman Heritage in European Museums has a whole other side to it. Looking forward to conversations, archives & a panel discussion at the OII/Orient Institute.
