I think that's the old one. I thought the old one was torn down, but apparently just massive reconstruction back in 2014-5.

Pretty accurate...and let's add something: Republican propaganda was devoted to insisting the economy resolved by the outgoing Democratic President was "terrible".. even though it was not. (See job growth comparison.)

Not very fast. Trump's approval rating is either stable or rising slightly. It averages around 49%, between 47 and 53%. Too many people are still applauding the menace because he is "cost cutting" and "saving us money".

And some of us were writing last summer that trump wanted to turn Gaza into a resort... One of the many relevant things I posted last summer:

Yep. That was the first thing I looked for: Is this legal? No, it's not, but are there any consequences? It seems unlikely. Can someone sue? If so, what then? Unclear. From Reuters:

Yep... my first question was "Is this legal?" It appears not to be, as you've noted, but what consequences are there for trump disobeying the law? Who has standing to sue and would suing over this be meaningless? From Reuters:

There are fewer vacant "housing units" now than in '09 or even '06. The %age of vacant homes has varied between ~8-13% since '65, which is as far back as Census records on vacant houses go. Vacant homes # DO include most AirBnB's that are purchased to be used as an AirBnB. Breakdown of vacant homes:

I've seen this in many places, but it's not really true. There are about 15 million vacant "housing units". We first hit 16M vacant in 2006; vacant # peaked at almost 19M in 2009

BUT most of the current 15M “vacant” housing units are accounted for. From the US Census, 2024 numbers:

Good morning & good night, new and old friends. I'll be honest: I'm feeling very overwhelmed & not sure which way to go... How do I help this mess? CAN I help in this mess? Any ideas as to which foot we move first? Meanwhile, images of November:

Dear old & new friends, I hope you all have a decent, peaceful, and productive week. We need to all think about what we can do to preserve our country but also what we can do to keep our wits about us. Be sad; we all have good reason to be sad, but don't let that sadness paralyze you. ❤️
