We realized in the middle of our Labor Day weekend camping trip that it was Maple's birthday in the middle of it. So we decided that the trip was officially her birthday vacation. 🐕🎂

She is practicing self care at the puppy spa this morning (i.e. Maple getting her daily ear flush because she has stinky ears)

She sleeps like she's working 80 hours a week.

Every year I try to grow cherry tomatoes with a fancy Florida weave trellis to support it. And it grows....ok. And every year without fail, the plant falls over and I assume we're done for the year.

Which is followed by my plant laughing at me and growing in a stupid, wild tangle. And thrives.

Guess I can't lay on my side of the bed tonight. Can't disturb Maple, she works too hard

Just picked up a rad painting
of starling murmeration in flight! Ever since I started getting into birding I adore how often you see starling flocks zooming around in Huntsville.

Donut, the scritches enjoyer, still kinda mad that we left him for a week while we were at the beach.

The birds have found the strawberry plants. One strawberry eaten and I've already turned into a full on insane person, painting rocks to look like fake strawberries . This is war.

We just finished planting some native shade plants in Northern Alabama to see if we could get a pollinator garden going - Carolina allspice, common Columbia, bleeding heart. I've never planted before, so fingers crossed it takes off 🤞

I was told I needed to stop working and go play. As usual, she was right. Crunch crunch crunch

Pumpkin Carvings for 2023! The kids costumes matched what carvings they wanted this year.
