I was one of those kids who spent their summers watching the Cubs on WGN, eat dinner and watch the Braves on TBS. Worst nights of the summer were when the Cubs played the Braves and there was less baseball to watch.

My grandfather was an immigrant from Greece who came to America and flourished. His favorite thing was bringing in able bodied Greeks and making sure they got a shot at Georgia Tech or Georgia Southern or UGA. These kids would live with my grandparents for the summer.

I’m at my youngest cousins wedding. I always think about the time he asked me to help him out of a speeding ticket. We got it dismissed if he did 2 hours of community service. He called me after his service hours to inform me he got another ticket leaving his service hours.
