LibDems favour maximum devolution not just to Scotland but all over the UK. I am personally against referenda on principle, but if parliament decides to have another then we shall have to fight against independence again. If Scotland were to vote to leave the UK we would accept democracy.

Actually, we were offered much advice by Labour, the party which introduced student fees and top up fees having promised not to and who have just increased them again. I accept that we were wrong in 2010 on this issue, but why is our mistake more egregious than Labour’s?

I have never said the issue shouldn’t be revisited. I personally think referenda are the tools of populists and dictators, but I accept that in this case a binding referendum would be needed. Oh, and by the way, I want the whole of the UK to join the EU, not just Scotland.

Actually no. Even Adam Smith didn’t have faith in an unfettered free market. LibDems believe in a regulated free market where as Smith put it ‘the government holds the ring’. Neo liberals want no controls at all. That’s way different.

And such a pity the UK won’t be there to enjoy its benefits

Well the SNP for one. They keep banging on about voting for them to get independence. I have no objection to another referendum but any such needs to set out in advance what constitutes a clear majority for it. Also you can’t have referenda every few years just because you don’t like the last result

Actually no. Liberals and LibDems have always seen the need to regulate the free market, recognising that unchecked free markets do not meet all needs. Gladstone nationalised the Post Office and Beveridge drew up the plans for the NHS. Lloyd George started National Insurance and old age pensions

LibDems may be many things but Neo Liberal isn’t one of them. More like Social Liberal

There was a referendum on Scottish independence. Independence was rejected, so Scotland remains a part of the UK. The Brexit referendum was a disaster for the UK. Sadly the terms were so badly drafted that a narrow majority overall determined that the UK left the EU inc Scotland.

Stop wingeing. Either pay your taxes or close down. Who cares anyway?

Er, no. We were not a split from Labour, that was the SDP. The Liberal Party, the main component on the LibDems have a history going back to 1857, long before Labour even thought of existing. Yes, there was a coalition with Cameron’s Tories, but that ended 10 years ago and would not be repeated.

LibDemvoice4women are a group of LibDem members supporting anti trans views. They are not a recognised group and have no official standing in the LibDems. LibDemWomen, on the other hand are a recognised group within the party and are a wholly inclusive group and most definitely not transphobic.

Paul Marshall is not and has not been for some time a LibDem. If you must attack LibDems at least do it on facts not fiction

Don’t associate Clegg with the LibDems. He has no role in the party nor does he speak for them. His views on artists are not LibDem ones. He speaks only for himself.

It’s not reduced hours. It’s the same number of hours but worked in 4 days rather than 5 days. Reduced days, yes. Reduced hours, no.

Goodness me. If you are going to attack the LibDems do it on the basis of fact not fiction. The LibDems would no more privatise the NHS than I would cut off my arm with a blunt knife with no anaesthetic. Where do you get such nonsense from.
