I am really confused by men who, while working out in the gym, push themselves to try to lift weights that are clearly too heavy for them. They struggle through 2 or 3 reps, pulling the strangest faces. Is this the face of #insecure #masculinity? Who are the trying to impress?

Still not touched a drop of alcohol. 3,5 months gone now. Feeling fitter than I have in my whole life. No drinking, eating better, yoga, jogging and gym. Once a heavy smoker, I haven’t puffed since before COVID. I don’t look at myself in horror anymore. #sober #gettingfit

Sunshine From Between The Clouds
The sun is peeking through the gaps in the cumulus clouds. The air is fresh and the light breeze brushes my skin. Birds sing their song in the nearby trees. Somewhere in the distance gulls squawk. Life has taught me that there is little point in stressing about my daughters taking ages to get ready in the morning. On school and workdays, it can be difficult to maintain that thought, however while enjoying some vacation time, I need to be able to let those stress moments pass.

Returning to life
The last time I published anything on this page was in 2017. A lot of stuff has happened since then. Brexit, losing my mum, COVID, my spiral into depression and alcoholism, the magnificent shit show that is the modern world. I've also had to deal with some personal realisations... Step by step, I hope to get through most of it as it relates to me.

I had been devastatingly low for a long time. Years of a stress, anxiety, depression. I could find no logic for how long deep it all was. The path out seemed impossible. My wife stayed where many would have been long gone. Now, fitter and more positive than i have ever been. #sober #recovery
