I am tired, so perhaps that is it, but really struggling to put that word in a sentence as a noun.

This is not “breaking” - that story aired several months ago. And it is well documented that DHS has launched an initiative (however misguided) to conduct welfare checks on everyone who entered as an “unaccompanied minor” in their system.

Obliged to say that IMO Raya was at least as responsible for the blunder as was Saliba.

Should have been 3-0. I put Raya at fault for the goal they gave up. RMA flopping like it’s 1990.

FWIW, John was an Intelligence Analyst, not a Special Agent.

I have an eight month old German Shepherd puppy that would give Pol Pot a run for his money.

Now you are just being silly - of course they do.

Apple sees being a leader on privacy issues a strong selling point, so that stance is adopted for financial interests as well. But back to the point, Apple does not sell your data to advertisers and reposting debunked claims from The Verge’s article to argue the contrary is pushing a falsehood.
January 15, 2025 at 7:22 AM
Just stop - Apple isn’t sharing your data with advertisers. To the contrary, Apple has routinely worked against its own interests by making it harder for its most important partners to collect information through their apps and search.

Good grief, people will fall for any sort of clickbait nonsense. This has been on you iPhone since 2021, data never leaves your phone, and it does useful things like put your music app in the quick launch when you put your EarPods in.

Strictly a financial decision- settlement was about 10% of anticipated judgment if they lost at trial.

By the by, best NY style pizza on the Westside is from The Coop. Doesn’t deliver to SM, but so worth picking up if you are over that way.

Careful, Hawkatana. There are 57 US criminal statutes with express extra-territorial jurisdiction provisions and about 200 additional where violations committed overseas could likely be charged in the US.

I wish I was getting to explore LA for the first time again. The mountains are fantastic. The resto you will be glad to discover now instead of five years from now is Barrique.

Duty is to follow law and policy. It would be against DOJ and FBI policy to conduct any investigation of a cabinet member without required approvals for a “Sensitive Investigation Matter”. And there is no realistic situation in which a cabinet member would be arrested without a warrant.
December 1, 2024 at 6:35 AM
Yeah, that’s just not how it works at all. Virtually all FBI arrests are based on indictments, a small percentage with warrants based on affidavits (followed up by an indictment), and then a very few probable cause arrests in extremely rare circumstances for which prosecutor concurrence is required.
December 1, 2024 at 6:10 AM
Hi. The FBI conducts investigations, it does not charge people. That’s what prosecutors do. Hope that helps.
