Years ago I was thinking a bit about a dwarf themed 09/0n18 layout too, but with a mine railway. Mostly underground with lots of peek-a-boos into the mine shafts.

Yes, I stayed with paper/cardboard. But I'm a dedicated papermodeler, too, so this came pretty natural.

I've got distracted from my usual distractions and started some #miniaturepainting.
1st one is an old space ork - ok for a first try, ig, but not the paint style I aim for (too much black).
2nd one is an optional part of a AoS squig herder (I go for the bagpipes) (1/2)

The plinths basically follow the same pattern as the cornices.
I've also added some weathering in th elower areas thus getting close to be able to permanently fix the depot building to the baseboard.

As expected, I had to do some filling and sanding. I used some abrasive dust mixed with PVA as filler.

For ease of handling I've added the cornices before finally mounting the remaining arcade walls to the building. As for the windowframes I've glued two pieces of cardboard together, then removed the exess material with two cuts parallel to the step -easy!

That was a good occasion to start painting, too.
