There are many of those (see eg below). Not cheap but apparently quite effective for other stuff (eg anxiety). Not sure what the state of play is re covid symptoms is though.

Sorry for the unsolicited advice but I gather that some symptoms of long covid are now being treated with vagal nerve stimulation. Not sure if this is something you’ve already looked into but thought I’d at least mention it. Tech-based stimulators are all the rage in the therapy world.

Been stuck in burnout/dissociation/overwhelm/brain fog/existential crisis/etc for some time now and it definitely feels like my IQ has dropped 40 points. Nervous system dysregulation makes thinking clearly a near impossibility. Have given up on trying to force it. Wish it was about will-power…

I know people sometimes use hypo-social and hyper-social as terms but hyper-social doesn’t seem to me either a complete inversion of a-social or sufficiently neutral as it just means ‘too much’

And—while you’re at it—have a think about (1) what the answer to this question reveals about how different human lives are weighed differently/unequally, and (2) whether this different/unequal weighing isn’t just a teensy-weensy little bit at odds with a commitment to democratic norms.
