I knew CECOT was horrible, but this is beyond what I expected.

It worked with the CDC and its 2016 Opioid Prescribing Guidelines. Many in chronic pain were cut off from much-needed pain medication. Many died, more live in agony.

I find this example particularly helpful in order to truly appreciate the scale of the theft required to become a billionaire:
What’s a Billion Dollars? Suppose that every day you got $1,000. In a year you’d have a third of a million, and in three years, one million. Since a billion is 1,000 million, it would take you 3,000 years to earn a billion dollars at this rate. If you started saving $1,000 daily at the time of Christ, 2,000 years ago, today you would have two-thirds of a billion dollars. There are over 3,000 people who own more than a billion, including Elon Musk: $342 Billion, Mark Zuckerberg: $216 Billion, Jeff Bezos: $215 billion, Larry Ellison: $192 billion, and Warren Buffett: $154 Billion. Ask yourself, how could they have possibly earned that money in any realistic sense of the term earn? And if they didn’t earn it, who did, and why is it not in their possession?
