My horse made poor decisions today, so his auntie Skyla made this adjustment to his photo. Yes, those are porcupine quills. 18 of them. He's fine. Hopefully he makes better decisions in the future.

What good is a stove if it cannot keep water boiling in a pot this size unless the lid is on? I know the many valid reasons against gas stoves but every time I try to cook in a stock pot on an electric stove, I cry.

Cheyenne had a lifelong dream come true today. A cat finally returned his affections.

(Yes, the cat is outside, he is not mine, I can do nothing about this. He is a TNR cat who belongs to the barn, he receives routine veterinary care and food and has a warm place to sleep).

I am so jealous of the shelving. We moved all of these across the country to a 1 bedroom apartment, there are actually more games in the clothes closet, and I am a terrible wife who does not play most of these lol

Do you want to see a pony (not mine) dedicated to getting the grass on the other side of the fence even though he has 40 whole acres he could roam and surely find more easily accessible grass?

Of course you do.

I don't typically express gratitude but this week I'm very excited to be living in Photo A instead of Photo B as we approach the first true fall season I will have experienced in 14 years.

Also in paper decluttering: I don't really remember my maternal grandmother, but she was the other artsy person in the family aside from me. We were both born on the summer solstice. She wrote a lot of poetry, and I found some of her old drawings.

Trying to clear out all my paper clutter and ran across this, a reminder that my hometown was desperate enough for news that at 16 I made the Friday paper for finding a kitten, a photo my mother dutifully scrapbooked despite still being angry I dyed my hair brown.

Fear not the kitten found a home.

I purchased a gift copy of A Song to Wake a Thousand Sorrows a while back that ended up not being needed, so I offer one free US Kindle copy of the first book in my epic fantasy duology. First come, first served.

My horse: Surely, if I hide my distinctive white blaze in these trees, the rest of me will blend into the foliage and Mum will NEVER know I'm here. (It did actually take me forever to find him, he was at the way back of the herd.)
