that's the crux of the issue.. coal will be gone by then, and nuclear/oil are not a thing.. do we have enough gas? I have batteries for 3 days and a generator for emergencies but that's me, how will the rest of the country do?

Now after reading your "timeline" i understand why you bring up Keating. Know this, i emigrated in 2000.. before that i was in the UK and we were all talking about CFCs and the ozone hole.
Of course there was propaganda and scepticism over that.. but with the ban on CFCs, the hole closed.

you understand that coal exports are a private business that the LNP gave licences to in return for no public royalties.. same as Gas..? The government can't stop it without paying massive compensation when it gets sued..

..and i have 100kwh of storage with the theoretical charge rate (without solar) of 18kwh (single phase 80amp) which means with a DoD limit of 20% set i can go empty to fully charged in 4.3 hours. (practically though, 4.9h @16kw/70amp)..
Also, i have 4kw DC coupled solar and 8kw AC coupled...
