I am so damn proud of the team effort behind this audiobook. I am forever grateful to the individuals that read their own stories, the voice actors, the teams at @simonbooks, @theracecardproject as well as clean cuts audio in DC and CDM audio in NYC. Take a bow becuase you all did this thing.

The result was beyond even what I imagined. I know I made my production team a little crazy with this idea. I heard — “You want to do what?!?” more than a few times. But we broke new ground by shaking up the format and created something that is both special and unique.

As someone who has worked in audio for so long, I wanted to make sure my audio book would create an aural experience for listeners with a full symphony of voices. I wanted the listener to hear a tidal wave of voices from Americans telling their own stories in their own octaves.
