Our global #food system depends on natural systems that are under pressure: from soil to freshwater to pollinators and rainfall. Extreme weather, drought and war may disrupt supply chains, #desertification, soil degradation and diseases like #avianflu could impact production in major ways.

The energy transition is happening:
In many sectors progress is now driven by market forces. Perhaps this is why politicians who previously denied climate concerns are floating alternative solutions instead - from #nuclear to #geoengineering. Whether the alternatives have merit remains to be seen.

The role of the US will change:
As an American living abroad I’ve seen the impact President Trump had on our national reputation. I don’t believe that other countries will wait four years to see what happens next. Instead we may see a more #multipolar world, with all its opportunities and risks.

That’s awesome. I think that is the way of the future- certainly in universities. I’m taking postgraduate classes atm, and it’s sad to see half the students reading off screens about unrelated content during lectures. Not judging them, I would just rather interact while we are all together!
