This was a sobering but oh so important read. If the title of the Prof Brabazon’s research offends you, just think on that a moment… imagine those words spoken at you… 🤔😶
Such a privilege and joy to see my research on the weaponization of the PhD being used by the ABC to understand the treatment of women in our doctoral programmes. It was tough - dark - research. I am so thankful it has been useful... #skyphd - www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11...
The internet is resembling the first few pages of The Handmaid's Tale
The saddest aspect of all this that a generation of boys may feel compelled to suppress the ordinary the joy of celebrating another's success.

The stoic lawyer: how Stoicism keeps me going
Legal practice is so often framed around competence, precision, and technical mastery—but anyone who has actually lived this work knows that the emotional terrain is just as demanding. The emails that land too late, the conversations that turn sharper than expected, the weight of other people’s crises sitting in your inbox. Ooh golly, that can be heavy. Over time, I’ve found myself seeking comfort, although I was really unsure what I was really seeking.

This is such important research. Please share! #neurodivergent #neurodiverse #neuroinclusive
I'd appreciate help circulating this survey, part of our overall work on neurodivergence.

This one is on behalf of the graduate deans, to develop better supervision guidelines.

You can help by boosting and circulating the link in your various networks 🙏 redcap.unisq.edu.au/surveys/?s=D...

POOOF—there goes that brilliant idea, gone as fast as it came 🤦🏻‍♀️ That’s why I started building my second brain with Obsidian: a vault that thinks with me, links thoughts visually, works offline, and plays nicely with plugins. 🧠

Ahhh citations and footnotes: tiny, mighty, under-appreciated. They’re the secret handshake of scholarship, where scholarship lives, where the real reading happens. 📚✨🤝
References. Evidence. Verification. It all seems optional at the moment. An emotion, thought bubbles and vibes dominate. Right now, there is value and power in reclaiming footnotes - to demonstrate - to probe - to demonstrate. Footnotes reveal that the margins matter. New post: youtu.be/8D3ZbzHSItQ

This post had me: ‘we used Claude as our AI writing buddy—but the human voice stayed front and centre’ 📚✨https://thesiswhisperer.com/2024/05/01/we-wrote-a-36000-word-book-in-a-single-weekend-yes-really/?utm_source=chatgpt.com
We wrote a 36,000 word book in a single weekend (yes, really)
Ok, it wasn’t a fancy academic book, but still… I want to share how we did it, and what we learned about generative AI in the process, but first some context. For a long time, my friend Profe…
