But despite day to day hassles, I have had to have some mindless crochet on the go for late at night.
So here's my crochet day post...(I did in fact just finish it yesterday lol)
I call it 'mindless' and am surprised to find I love it.

So about 35 to 40 years ago I took shuttle tatting lessons.
Yesterday (while sorting stuff I'd forgotten I had), I found this WIP from that time. I carried this in an emptied wet wipes box to hockey practise for my then 9 year old son.
Pattern long gone though 😕

Still not crocheting (stupid broken clavicle) but did finally get a yarn fix in a cute yarn+ shop in Bermuda. Got 3 balls of this cotton (colours!)

Re hook:
All I used at first was a plain ordinary crochet hook as was doing an entrelac Tunisian pattern (that ultimately made a cover over seat of one of my dining room chairs that cat like sleeping on lol.
With entrelac you don't need a longer hook 😉

Good advice.
I was doing a lil of that in leaves 4 and 5 before I decided I was tired and more and more frustrated by the way too loose starter chain looked..it has to go!
I don't mind restarting :)

Btw... While waiting for hobbii order to arrive (getting eta now of may 6 to 9) I've played around with other yarns I've had (practising)
This would make well in that pattern, visually but while it's nice and soft it's awfully challenging for all the manipulation on that pattern.

Slip stitch crochet - leafy afghan.
Ok...did a test following the pattern and in general I think my tension is ok.
Of course this is thicker yarn than I have on order but at least I can follow the pattern lol.

My Tunisian start was years ago, searching Pinterest for ideas for a quilt. Came across a pic of yarn 'quilt' (as maker called it)... had to look.
It was entrelac Tunisian crochet. I immediately tried it. And that, as they say, was that! (That same sample in pic) Posted it before but post gone now
