If you've never tasted a Cosmic Crisp apple, I suggest you snag one. I live in Gravenstein country; the Grav is a summer apple that doesn't store well. I saw came across Cosmic Crisps recently: Best apple ever! I've been eating 1, 2, & even 3 a day. It's a beauty, too. @maddow.msnbc.com

Why, msnbc?? Cancelling the shows of 5 people of color: @joyannreid.bsky.social @wagnertonight.msnbc.com (Jen Psaki takes over the slot). @ayman.msnbc.com, @jonathancapehart.bsky.social, & @katiephang.bsky.social, all gone. Rachel @maddow.msnbc.com last night: It feels indefensible. I agree.

What are y'all reading to stay calm and sane? I finished The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coates yesterday. It is brilliant and I recommend it. On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder is next. I am limiting TV news to Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell. Working on Substack essays, which will be up before week's end.

I keep trying to come up with something better than "Now what?" but haven't gotten here yet. I am eager to listen to the newest episode of Chris Hayes's podcast, Why Is This Happening? His guest: Rachel Maddow, discussing what's next for us, for democracy. It's not the time to disengage, she says.
