“A painting is music you can see, and music is a painting you can hear.” Miles Davis
Happy holidays! Here’s my interpretation of “Ride Captain Ride,” by Blues Image.

This painting took me much longer, partially because it’s 24” x 36” and I completed chemo infusions and then began oral chemo with radiation. Congratulations to me! I had great fun working with “Come Together” from The Beatles’ Abbey Road album. I hope you can spot the fun little homages I included.

Inspired by “20th Century Boy,” by T Rex. Hope you enjoy.

As all my paintings, this was inspired by song….Johnny Cash’s “I Got Stripes.” In case you are wondering, there is a real Zebra Katydid insect. It took me longer to work on this one as the chemo neuropathy hung on a bit longer. I hope you enjoy it as much as I was delighted to be able to finish it.

With the recent passing of Brian Wilson, I was inspired to look to the Beach Boys’ music for my next painting. I’m very pleased to share my thoughts on “Surfin’ Safari.”

How did I do? I’d love to know your comments!

Inspired by the Joe Cocker song, “You Can Leave Your Hat On.” Great fun. I’m already planning my next song. (big smile)

One of my favorite performers is Marcia Ball, whom I’ve been fortunate enough to hear perform live. This was inspired by her fun song, “Fingernails.” Every time I hear it I can “see” her perform it. Happy Friday!

Just a quick fun one today. This was inspired by “Blue Suede Shoes,” by Elvis.

The idea for this one made me smile. Here is my take on “A Horse With No Name,” by America. Acrylic 20”x24”. I hope it makes you smile as well.

This one was inspired by “Africa” by Toto.

Just a little one for fun today. I wanted to try something a little looser than my normal style and was inspired by “Every Breath You Take,” by the Police. I hope you enjoy my little warped sense of humor 😁

Well, this is really off the wall. While listening to Take It to the Limit, by The Eagles, I suddenly had a vision of the 1953 Daffy Duck cartoon, Duck Amuck. In it, Daffy is tormented by an animator who constantly changes his locations, clothing, voice and appearance, much to Daffy's aggravation.

I went back to the 60s for this one—“Wild Thing” by The Troggs.

Wow, did I have fun imagining this one and it remarkably came out like in my head! I was inspired by the Bill Withers song, Ain’t No Sunshine, which was playing in my car while coming back from errands and then played on a loop in my mind while painting.

I got a little silly with this one. Inspired by a J Geils Band song, “Centerfold.” I hope it makes you smile.

Finished this morning. I was inspired both by John Lennon’s song “Imagine” and by the times in which we are living. I hope it inspires others.

This one was quite a challenge and not only because it’s the largest canvas I’ve attempted (acrylic on 24x30 stretched canvas). Inspired once again by The Doobie Brothers, this is “Dependin” On You.” #acrylic #painting #acrylicpainting

This one’s a real throwback. Inspired by the artist instead of a particular song. Haha. Acrylic on a 11x14 stretches canvas. #acrylic #painting #acrylicpainting

Another older one. It is a little different because 1) it’s not a rock song (“The Devil Went Down to Georgia”) and 2) I included things specific to Atlanta like the street signs where every other street is Peachtree something. I hope it gives you a giggle. #acrylic #painting #acrylicpainting
