At least Australians can listen to Trump directly and understand what they're dealing with. But he's impossible to translate to other languages. A translator for Polish TV often gets criticized for nonsensical translations of Trump when he just reflects how Trump talks.

You say: "... in campaign against drugs trade". You shouldn't write something like that without quotation marks. People pay serious money for your subscription, so you should treat them seriously.

O 2 lata za późno. Jaki pożytek miała Polska z trzymania tego sprzętu, kiedy Ukraina go potrzebowała?

Everyone should be wearing masks in public transport for this to be effective, not just those "experiencing flu or cold symptoms". Ideally, those experiencing symptoms should consider staying home if possible.

It's very clear in the article that the appeal is to those with symptoms (so potentially sick) to wear masks. So the goal is not to protect the wearer, but rather those around them. In that case, a surgical mask would be beneficial.

The UK is one of the least privacy-conscious countries in Europe. Their dislike of IDs is just an irrational oddity that has little to do with actual privacy.

In her case it's more than that. She learned about the virus early on, at a time when Chinese authorities tried to downplay it. But then she jumped immediately from "the government is not telling the whole truth" (fair enough) to a grand conspiracy orchestrated by the government.

Given that the Bank of England holds a large share of the national debt, there may indeed be some unconventional ways to ease the debt burden, but they're limited.

MMT would work perfectly for the UK if it was a self-sufficient, closed economy. But it isn't, it depends on imports. It's true that the government could technically borrow or "print" whatever it wanted in GBP, that would be of little use if the value of GBP (relative to other currencies) collapsed.

What struck me most on Europe wasn’t the focus on value, freedom of speech etc - again, very similar to Vance’s Munich speech - but how activist it is. This is about directly trying to influence what is going on in Europe:

Oh no, I didn't know Melvyn had stepped down! In Our Time has been amazing, the best programme that BBC has ever produced, although it was clear for some time that Melvyn was getting too old to run it effectively.

Real shame. Car sharing (especially with EVs) should be promoted and exempt from the congestion charge.

I słusznie, bo lepszą miarą średniej zamożności mieszkańca Polski jest PKB per capita, a według tej miary Polska jest na pozycji 38. (wg MFW) lub 40. (wg Banku Światowego).

"is now facing criticism" -- from whom? It's not clear at all from the article, no one is quoted. Is it Michael Savage (the author) who's criticizing?

The Antarctica sequences
The “Antarctica sequences” episode shows once again how a wrong date can turn a mundane event into supposed evidence of a cover-up.  The story of the Antarctica sequences is one of those narratives in...

I'm reading "Collapse" and my impression is that perestroika initially basically tried to implement the Yugoslav system. Do you know if the Yugoslav experience was considered at all by the Soviet reformers?

The sad reality is that anti-China policies pursued by the US ever since the first Trump administration create obvious incentives for China to support Russia (or any other enemy of the "western world order"). And drive it towards self-sufficiency, diminishing any leverage the west still has.

Obviously they have vested interests, as do the German manufacturers -- when is industry lobbying not based on vested interests?
