Yet, I believe that the majority of population do not wish to become part of the RU empire, want to stay integrated in the western world and this (Fico gov) too, shall pass.

+ lot of Russian propaganda on social media undermines trust of authorities, institutions. This helps populists offer quick fixes.

Response from Slovakia: many people are simple, voting 4 Fico for promises of raising their salaries by €50. Not seeing €100 taken from other pocket.

A lot of the EU funds were not invested as effectively as in Poland, Czechia or the Baltics, so some ppl dnt see tangible benefits of EU membership.

Still, I find this attempt to be an important sign of unity of the opposition parties whether the elections are held in the regularly scheduled date or sooner.

There are other issues within the coalition, and it could disintegrate on its own sooner than the regular elections are scheduled in 3 years time.

Unfortunately, it is not realistic for the opposition to vote him out this time. Although there are some unhappy coalition MPs, they are not likely to loose their seats this early and vote against Fico.
