Dear #ux designers: There are people (like me) who get super anxious when “a call” starts. Please please please make *every* call behind a confirmation screen. And do not ever make clicking on a phone number a start of a call. In what universe would that be a good idea in 2025 anyways?

Looking […]

I was just told that it's a "boomer thing" to add music to posts. And ... yes please. Can we all agree that it's not cool and slowly let people on trains blasting 300ms of songs in rapid sequence away into the history of mistakes of humanity?

In what universe do people prefer to interact with [a service] via ephemeral, tiny, restricted (no attachments, no formatting), chat app that is embedded as part of the main app and obstructs actual work?

Aging carriages, high costs and reluctant incumbents choked off the night-train revival — even as passengers clamor for more.

I can't imagine worse line of reasoning than people stating: "It doesn't matter if we go all-electric, because our national grid is all based on fossil fuel power plants".

I will leave to the reader to understand why.

Dear library developers. For 2026+ onwards I would wish for every `throw(message)` the `message` to be:

1) At *least* one full paragraph of text. This is important, because your error message *has to* be super easily distinguishable from the 5029 other error messages I am seeing now. And easy […]

The news headline: "Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Alexander Zmeyevsky from the post of Russia’s ambassador to the Czech Republic." really surprised me this morning.

Like ... why the fuck does any reasonable country still has a Russian embassy? Kick out the people & seize the […]

There is some great dissonance around #ai tools:

Tech bros: Trying to sell you AI sparkling water and maybe even really thinking it makes sense.

Daily users: Understanding the capabilities & boundaries and making their daily life better.

Haters: Either completely dismissing any objective […]

Reason number 5902 why I like using #ai for coding: I can have "a conversation" with my code without doing some complicated analytics:

1) In how many files we call component X?
2) In how many of those it's with param Z?
3) Since the last refactor ~20 commits ago when we introduced Z we […]

Dear #mastodon power-users: Is there a way in the "advanced web interface" to hide those "hide" and "alt" buttons? Or just to move them *away* from the image? I find it a really poor design choice this already tiny image content by active buttons.

There are reasons for things. Even if it doesn't look logical at all. My WIP code often times contains things like this:

```
console.log(args.content)
console.log(args.content?.query)
console.log(args.content?.query?.page)
console.log(args.content?.query?.page?.number)
```

Why? I do want the […]
