Best memories we have made as a family were in biting cold wet winds that left our cheeks red for days. My kids still ask for winter hikes & beach days to this day even though they are outgrowing me. You get a lot of land to yourself and you’re so cold you goof off to get through it together. 💛

That is a major disappointment

I love when the sky gets like that in the PNW, grey but the trees glow beneath the rainbow is just the cherry on the top at that point. 😍

It likely would have just made me feel profoundly guilty that I was yet again not meeting “norms” and would have made grief harder for me to untangle.

I never subscribed to this because I think people are often non-linear in their emotional thinking & I just don’t know enough about it to hold an opinion, but this past year my grief was chaotic and completely without much of a pattern to speak of so I’m glad I never held onto that as an expectation

🫂 I’ve been ugly crying all evening. This one was much more skittish and clever than the previous ones and deeper into the woods. I think I know where the mama cat hangs out though so I’m still going to try and get her and get her spayed and relocated. We have coyotes and a mountain lion around.

As a great granddaughter of *local man in an unnamed southern US locale* I am in. I don’t watch late night so I don’t know exactly what this entails, but honestly by all accounts from Granny, GGF didn’t know wtf what he was doing either when when he made bathtub gin so I think it will work out.
