High cardinality problems in 2024 are mostly a licensing problem. If you are using a SaaS you’re probably getting fleeced for metrics and forced to sample before data leaves your infra. Keep it in your VPC. High quality o11y software isn’t hard to run. My team builds one at Kloudfuse.
