Jayce rly tries to be a good-ish dad. He takes Spanner w him when he climbs out of the pit, carries him close, talks to him even if Jayce doesnt know if it can hear. He worries, constantly, about waking up and feeling that tiny body still, taken by hunger :<

Jayce, out of regret, tries his best to wrap the lil broken leg. He then panics some more bc Spanner doesnt have a mouth and, as such, cannot fucking Eat. He decides to try to make his sad, fucked up mannequin babys life as comfortable as possible </3 he holds him always and tries to sing to him -

He squeezes Spanner out, panics bc it looks like the freaky mannequins that chased him, and proceeds to break Spanners lil leg. Jayce then FREAKS out bc he thinks he might be hallucinating everything and he mightve just broken a regular ass babys leg. Hes unwell.

Spanner is born in the pit in the doomed timeline. The pregnancy lasts a mere 4 months. Jayce doesnt really start showing until the 4th month. He figures hes getting eaten by like. A fucked mutated tapeworm or smth when he gets contractions LMAO
