I don't know if it's end of the year retrospective but I've been feeling really centered lately.

PCs had caught up to a pseudo-time traveling villain who was really pissing them off
Villian was suppose to rewind time to change events and PC abilities in neat ways but it would never let them avoid the fight.
PCs trivialized it so well I could only reward their ingenuity with a quick battle 🥲

As a DM, I root for my players and celebrate their success.
But it feels some kind of way when they completely trivialize an encounter you spent considerable time on and had expected to be a cool challenge.
