Nobody's talking about Boston where Mayor Michelle Wu is winning reelection unopposed. Wu ran with progressive ideas like Mamdani's that worried establishment skeptics. Her reelection shows that a progressive can not only win with such promises but can govern so successfully as to win unopposed.

Yet unlike all my favorite Post columnists and reporters -- those who mostly got things right -- she has not been shown the door. "Democracy Dies in Darkness," once a warning, has become an aspiration.
