This is my country too and I am tired of elected officials who are far too comfortable in their positions of power to be effective anymore. If Hakeem isn’t interested in what I have to say, he can stop asking me for money and I can stop giving him any. There are many people who feel the same.

Also, they are not my political opinions. Why do you think Democrats are at historically low favorability? According to a survey from Data for Progress, 7 out of 10 Dem voters want dems in congress to take a firmer stand than they did in March, even if it means a shutdown.

Wrong on all counts. The government can’t function without money appropriated by Congress. If Congress doesn’t pass a budget bill, Trump’s government starves. ICE eventually can’t function without money.
