I worked with Mark for years. He was the nicest person I have ever known, like a big puppy. So kind, a jewel in a corporate world. I have a thousand words for it, and someone who did not know them might be scared, I just see this as beyond cruel.

That thing called academic freedom is the freedom to both learn and explore facts critically, regardless of weather or not they're pleasant or even extremely dangerous and divisive. The freedom is not about praising or condemning, but reviewing and understanding the effects of what happened and why.
