Another great egg pod post. I wonder what else is out there.
Despite the YouTube comments claiming “AI!” these are The Beatles’ demos of Love of the Loved (for Cilla Black) and Misery, with different lyrics. Anyone who saw Evolver ‘63 will remember a snippet of the latter.

Astounding that new Fabs material is still emerging!

Listening to Pink Moon by Nick Drake while making Sunday Lunch. What a fantastic album. Recorded 1971 and released 1972. It sounds so contemporary and a great set of songs. What a loss he was.

Ringo, Cilla and Basil Brush currently on BBC2 singing a Christmas song. Followed by Wings Mull of Kintyre, and then John and Yoko. Classics. Follow it up on BBC IPlayer. Shame no George.

I know people will disagree but it’s my favourite GH album of the 70s. Only bettered by the much later Cloud 9.
24 November 1976:

Thirty Three & ⅓, George Harrison's seventh solo album, is released in the USA.

The title refers to Harrison's age during the album's creation, and the 33⅓ revolutions per minute at which an LP revolves on a turntable.

His name is legs
Great groove, bass, piano and horns, but very strange lyrics. A weird monologue by legs in the background as well. Very enjoyable in an odd way. Closes the album as it starts with an uptempo number. I couldn’t cope with another ballad.

Tired of midnight blue
Another ballad, but written when very depressed. The lyrics show that. Keyboard driven. Keyboards all over this album. Something more uptempo would help the run of the LP I think

Can’t stop thinking about you
Another pop soul ballad. Clearly influenced a lot by Smokey R. Lots of keyboards. Would like a bit more guitar, but still a good listen.

World of stone
The second Hawaii song. He was on a bit of a roll that holiday.

Ooh Baby
Lovely slow ballad. Nice horns and vocals. One of a couple of tributes he wrote to Smokey R. Another on his next album 33 1/3. (That’s one on my favourites). Have we ever done that John?

This guitar can’t keep from crying
A follow up to the Beatles number? Lots of nice guitar work. Not as good as WMGGW but that’s a very high standard. Written in Hawaii with Olivia. But not a love song.

Soulful and not spiritual. A change of tack for George.

You
Really good uptempo start to the album. First heard this on the EMI greatest hits that George didn’t like, (because side 1 were all Beatle songs) and it stood up well with the other 1970s solo output. Enjoyable.
