Many of Steve Vai’s guitars have origin stories which contain elements of mystery. While it was previously believed that FLO was a converted Jem77FP with floral pattern fabric hidden under her white finish, the guitar tells a different story...

The white Ibanez Jem7VWH became Steve Vai’s main guitar from 1993 onwards, but Gold Cream’s design offers insight into color schemes that were prototyped but ultimately dropped.

In 2001, the first mirror-fronted Jem77BRMR was prototyped by Ibanez. Nicknamed "Bad Horsie" and later "Bo." Its original neck was upgraded to the blue LED-inlay neck before the London Astoria show, December 6, ‘01.

While conceiving his “For the Love of God” music video, Steve Vai came to Ibanez with a request to create a guitar that mimicked the appearance of the Fender Strat burned by Jimi Hendrix at the London Astoria in March 1967.
