I can understand that some people may still be using the image, but it would be difficult to know how widespread this. Anyways whoever it is, they have no excuse for not knowing better.

Serious academic journals completely banned use of the image in publications in 2018, and use has been discouraged long before that, nearly two decades. I'm not sure what you refer to, but if you have any specific examples, please share.

The image has been deprecated. It is widely known and accepted that it is not acceptable to use her image for research/education.
