My Seaborn books don’t just have magic in them … they’re straight up magic themselves.

Hello!

Proof of life (at the end of a long day of filming):
June 13, 2025 at 8:18 PM
After shooting in Harlech Castle yesterday we had no choice but to do more filming in Wales. I was, as you can see, very sad about this.
June 13, 2025 at 7:08 AM
I mean, come on. You’ve got to love this.
June 7, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Finished up my tour of Cathar country with a visit to Lastours. Hiked up to all four surviving ruins, but this picture from a distance is my favorite.
June 7, 2025 at 2:50 PM
Seriously, there ought to be a statue of Joan of Arc here somewhere.
June 7, 2025 at 12:45 PM
They tell me that there are statues of Joan of Arc everywhere in France 🇫🇷 … and every time I come I fail to find one.

Out now on History Hit, the first episode of a two-parter with @thehistoryguy.bsky.social on the Road to Magna Carta: a look at the Battle of Bouvines! Enjoy!

I am enormously fortunate to have seen a great many medieval fortifications. I’m not sure any has astonished me more than Peyreperteuse. I took this pic from part of it looking at another part. And there’s another castle on the horizon at the right. ::swoon::

Ate dinner inside. Because obviously I did.
June 1, 2025 at 7:54 PM
Carcassonne is even more Medieval Disneyland than I expected … and I’m totally fine with that.
June 1, 2025 at 7:37 PM
My work in this part of the world centers on Cathar castles. But taking the time to visit the Narbo Via for some Roman goodies was time very well spent!
June 1, 2025 at 4:00 PM
And it’s literally overlooking the Mediterranean. That, too, doesn’t suck.

I was not prepared for the Greek and Roman ruins at Empuries. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so many mosaics together open in situ as this spot.
May 31, 2025 at 3:46 PM
It had been a couple decades since I last visited Barcelona. A truly vibrant place!

Thank YOU! I’m exceedingly happy when folks discover these books. If you loved SEABORN 🌊 and ICEBORN 🧊 , you’ll love STORMBORN ⛈️
