If Arte is going to sell, he would likely do it after the upcoming lockout because owners assume franchise values will increase with a potential salary cap.

Sam Blum made a good point. There will likely be a lockout after next season and Arte doesn’t want to be on the hook paying a manager during a lockout.

I don’t think the managers have been the cause of the pain. Sure, it’s a factor. But Maddon, Nevin, Wash weren’t set up to succeed. Suzuki will be as good as Arte and Perry allow him to be

He will be as good as Arte and Perry allow him to be. He will be popular with the players and likely put together a young staff. I don’t think it will be worse than it has been

Arte Moreno didn’t want to pay him more than he was already making on a special services contract. Even though being the manager is obviously way more time consuming and stressful.

For a normal team it probably is too much. But it was the fewest they’ve had in over two weeks. Double digit strikeouts in nearly every game the last week
