It's Alan's second adoptaversary! Alan was a completely unsocialized 7-month old street dog when we got him. Rescue dogs are tough, and in the first few months I often worried it was a mistake, but very few things in my life have made me as happy.

I mean, I don't know what the country thinks for real but when you ask them they say they are pretty into it, at least for the sciences. Like a lot of things people say are important, it's not necessary vote or policy driving.

The subhead on this article is "The gender gap in higher education has been widening for decades. Do universities need to do more to entice men back?"
But the data are remarkably stable over >20 years. This looks like stable equilibrium.

Finally, a very important use case for our lab, it can identify specific subcellular axonal domains stably from frame to fream in moving worms. This avoids signal compression from using large ROIs to compensate for residual relative movement after frame registration (which is no longer necessary).

It works equally well for crawling worms, and is particularly powerful in cases where thresholding fails because of debris, collisions, etc.

It performs equally well for movie frames, identifying worms even in large fields of view. She used this to analyze swimming postures, with zero dropped frames or segmentation failures despite edge lighting effects.

In static images, it can identify masks for individual worms, even when overlapping or in contact with other stuff (eggs, babies, lighting artifacts) for morphometric or other analyses.
