Trying out a new bit in which I’m a “second record” guy. “First album’s cool. The SECOND one though…”

This month marks two years since we reissued Tony Molina’s first album “Embarrassing Times”. It’s not too late to purchase and enjoy this West Bay classic - consider adding it to your Bandcamp Friday haul today tonymolina650.bandcamp.com/album/embarr...

truckloads of respect for the late, fountain of insight and longtime ATL avant music supporter/maker/chronicler Glen Thrasher, formerly of Acapella Books, Lowlife zine, Cat Power and WREK. Deepest condolences to his friends and colleagues - the world is a shittier place w/out his curiosity

I’m floored by this set of new, unreleased tracks from Wah Wah Wino, the best label going (for my money anyway). RIYL dub techno, ambient, Irish accents www.nts.live/shows/wah-wa...

I’m sad to learn that KALX legend Mike Rizzi aka Mike Burma has passed away. Great dude and the coolest old head you could possibly imagine. Really enjoyed volunteering with and learning from him at the station. kalx.berkeley.edu/sad-news-at-...

Loved all four of these new mixes Autechre did for BBC Radio 6. Highly recommend listening while they’re still available to stream www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

It’s Bandcamp Friday and I’d like to humbly offer that Tony Molina’s “Embarrassing Times” makes a great stocking stuffer (assuming said stocking can accommodate a 12” LP) tonymolina650.bandcamp.com/album/embarr...

Sad to hear that Mike McGuirk has passed. I only met him in passing but really loved reading his writing in the SF Bay Guardian. Here’s a great piece he did about the Stonehouse-Dwyer era of the Hospitals - it’s funny and captures the personalities involved so well web.archive.org/web/20050424...
