I’m thrilled that Campagnolo brought back the thumb shifter, but wish they left it in the original location. It worked; why mess with it?

João Almeida just rode a Colnago Y1Rs up the Angliru and won. I think that’s the final nail in the coffin for climbing bikes.

The rain caused a bunch of crashes today, including a Cofidis rider who went down right next to Pogacar, mere meters from the finish. If it rains tomorrow, those three laps of the cobbled climb near Montmartre are going to be treacherous.

Gregoire was in the same crash, but caught back up and finished 5th. Total hero move.

I hope Ivan Romeo is okay. Looked like his right elbow hit the curb pretty hard.

Chapeau for Kaden Groves, who one his first stage at the TdF, making him the 114th rider to win stages at all three grand tours.
July 26, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Wow, what an exciting stage! Cannot believe that Vingegaard got the better of Pogacar on that finish. Doesn’t change the results, but Pogacar looked uncharacteristically tired. Thrilled for Arensman. Oscar Onley looked great. Healy kept EF in the conversation.
July 25, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Florian Lipowitz also really impressive.

Wow, what a first Tour for Thymen Arensman. Ineos may get their groove back in the years ahead. 2.7 km to go and a 21 second lead on Pogacar and Vingegaard. Hope he can hang on for a second stage win!
July 25, 2025 at 3:26 PM
Chapeau to O’Connor on the stage win! I was initially disappointed that Pogacar was riding so conservatively, but watching him hit the afterburners at the end, dropping Vingegaard and flying past Rubio was worth the wait.

Zzzzzzzz. . . Oh, wait congratulations Jonathan Milan.
July 13, 2025 at 6:26 PM
I kind of love Kevin Vauquelin smack-talking Remco Evanpoel after yesterday’s stage. France needs a brash young GC contender to rally behind.
July 12, 2025 at 4:36 PM
1/2 No surprises at today’s stage. Jonathan Milan was favored to win, because the conditions suited his strengths. I’m a little disappointed that Wout van Aert hasn’t done anything awesome so far.

2/2 Going with the break on Stage 20 of this year’s Giro, and then launching that heroic pull for Simon Yates after his successful attack (and redemption!) on the Colle delle Finestre? Still gives me goosebumps.
July 12, 2025 at 4:33 PM
Impressed with Kevin Vauquelin’s performance. He had a good season last year, giving Arkea-B&B its first ever stage win at the TdF with that solo breakaway in Stage 2. For tradition, I’d love to see a Bianchi-sponsored team on the podium their first season back in the tour.
July 11, 2025 at 3:29 PM
Not a surprising finish at today’s stage. Pogacar wins, dragging Vingegaard on his wheel. Sorry to see yesterday’s stage winner, Ben Healy in a crash, but glad that he popped back up. Hope that Joao Almeida is okay for UAE’s sake, but Pog doesn’t seem to need much help.
July 11, 2025 at 3:18 PM
It’s great to see Quinn Simmons aka Ricky Bobby in the first chase group.
July 10, 2025 at 2:41 PM
As a Vaughters / Education First fanboy, I’m psyched to see Ben Healy on a solo breakaway with a fighting chance of winning the stage, and 5 mins ahead of the yellow jersey group!
July 10, 2025 at 2:31 PM
The surprise for me was Eduordo Affini holding off the rest of the field for 3rd. It goes to show how deep of a bench Visma-Lease a Bike has built. Controversial take: I think Pogi’s biggest threat is Visma working as a team to tire him out, not Jonas Vingegaard on solo attacks.
July 9, 2025 at 8:23 PM
With Filippo Ganna out, everyone knew that Stage 5 was Remco Evanpoel’s to lose. No surprise there. Not shocked that Tadej Pogacar rode a strong stage and will pull on the maillot jaune tomorrow morning.

3/3 Second, that new Colnago Y1Rs may not be the prettiest frame in the World Tour, but it’s definitely up to the job.
July 9, 2025 at 3:13 AM
2/3 First, it’s amazing to see Pogacar pull around a powerhouse like MvdP on anything even resembling a sprint.
July 9, 2025 at 3:08 AM
1/3 I watched most of Stage 4 of the TdF this morning, but couldn’t stick around for the finish. Just watched it now, and couple of thoughts:

So sad to see all of the crashes in the latter half of yesterday’s stage. Lots of good sense in this piece from one of the riders, Michael Woods, heading into Stage 4.

Watching Stage 3 of the TdF, and the most interesting detail is the weather conditions. Overcast, 14 degrees at the start, 30 kph crosswinds. Everyone in windbreakers, gilets, arm-warmers, etc. Standard summer riding in SF!
