Nice rhyme. Too bad “meteorite” and “meteoroid” need to be reversed in this example.

Neo-prog band that began in the early to mid 80s. The original singer’s name was Fish, replaced by Steve Hogarth around 1994. Fish continued as a solo artist; coincidentally played his final show and retired just this week.

Something like “Vote totals as of now for the 2025 Rock Hall. Lots to analyze. But the only Phish I knew was the guy from Marillion.”

“Mr. and Mrs. Everyone” in French. I’m curious about the Mandarin one; alas, Google brings no joy. Wáng (王) is among the most common Chinese surnames, so I assume “Number 5” is homonymous to a given name that includes wǔ (五, the number 5).

Bateau-Mouche boat tour on the Seine. As someone mentioned, it’s touristy, but it’s a great way to see many landmarks from a unique perspective.
Musée d’Orsay.
Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur.
Jardin de Luxembourg.

I read in the CMoS (IIRC) decades ago that the verb sense of “impact” was limited to “something being crushed between two other things” (e.g., a wisdom tooth) and stubbornly hewed to that “rule.” It’s taken me years to come around, but I’ve finally started using it.

“Pas dans le secret” is a common construction in French, so possible influence?

Anybody else search through it for a hidden-message acrostic à la Nabokov’s “The Vane Sisters” or that infamous headstone in a Montreal cemetery? :)
