There's a hot pixel in the north of Iceland that caught my eye. It's near a town called Húsavík. I wondered what was going on there. Turns out it's just this ONE GUY who lives there and submits eBird checklists all the time, lol.

You, too, can be an outlier if you try.

I'll keep an eye on this. Looks like probably not.

Think there's any chance again tonight for folks way down here in North Carolina? Trying to decide if I should go out to a dark spot tonight. I missed it last night but saw the one we had last October.

Yeah, so that “center” is just the midpoint between your minimum and maximum values, right? And so very sensitive to outliers…

What is "the center" though? Depends on what you're measuring, I guess. But if you're just talking about distributions in the vague, the peak or the mean seems like a reasonable "center".

If they were all drawn with the peak at the center of the image it might make more sense?

Here's some of what I picked up before the clouds rolled in. This is 9 minutes of migrating birds played back at 20x speed with trails to emphasize their movements. So many birds up there - this is a pretty narrow field of view! #birds

What are you gonna do with the colors?

I am extremely interested in the 300-600. I've rented the 600 f/4 before and it's just too damn big for regular use IMO. And being able to zoom out is often important. I am assuming the 300-600 will be very sharp and work well with teleconverters.
