Still recording when I got up this morning which means I have a lovely 9 hours of city sounds to sort through. Amazingly the battery pack is still showing full charge!

During this time, I got a call from my daughter saying, “Dad, the TV’s broken. I can’t hear any sound. It sounds all weird. Can you come and fix it?” (Of course, if you’re a sound person, you get asked to fix anything that makes a noise.) So I got home and somehow the digital cable from the TV to the soundbar was making this extraordinary, modulated buzzing sound, which made no sense at all, but it did change slightly with the sound that was feeding it. So I thought, “Oh, this is great. I couldn’t make this if I wanted to; I wouldn’t know where to start.” So I got my phone out, put a mic on it, and started recording this sound. I thought, “I know what I’ll do just to be safe. I’ll play Rogue Nation through it. So at least I know it’s consistent with the Mission Impossible movies.”

This sounds shockingly good, far better than it has any right to for the price and size. Kind of stunned at the leap in sound quality from my first handheld recorder!
