A new ignorance is on the horizon, an ignorance borne not of a lack of knowledge but of too much knowledge, too much data, too many theories, too little time. - Eugene Thacker

David Altmejd was an Artist in Residence last session at Pilchuck Glass School. It was amazing to see him working with the Gaffers Viviane Stroede and Luke Holden with casting help from his assistant John Dillard.

We just launched a monthly giving program to support our transformative arts programming.

I love being a part of the Pilchuck Glass School community. These are difficult times for everyone, but if you are able, please consider becoming a “Magic Maker.”

Back in the Mojave for the week, just in time to see everything in bloom! The black, white, and Mountain sage plants we put in a few years ago are full of flowers. The Nopales are trying to quadruple in size. The native beavertail cactus is blooming! I love seeing all the native bee species. #mojave

Kimsooja’s installation is a mirage, dichroic spiral, on a hill above Desert Hot Springs. The way it interacts with the landscape and other visitors is playful and a little magical. #desertx #glassart

It is a rainy day at Pilchuck. I spent some time hiking around the tree farm. It breaks my heart to see such beautiful trees cut down, but I suppose they were planted for this purpose. The massive mounds of cuttings look like forest creatures. The view from Dale’s cabin is mysterious. #Pilchuck

Throwback to a few summers ago when I taught free desert tree planting workshops and was working on an adobe mix.

Ronald Real’s 3D printed “Adobe Oasis” in Palm Springs. Sadly it was caution taped off when @emilyendo.bsky.social and I visited, but still cool to see. Another amazing part of this year’s Desert X.

Visit with Bernard Leibov at Boxo Projects to see the new sculpture by Severin Guelpa. Also visited Aili Schmeltz’ installation, a favorite of mine.
